Peace in Imperfect

Hello! This scripture helped shake everything into focus for me this week. There is a lot to feel and think about and do but there is very little that is essential.

And now, my son (I insert my own name here), I desire that ye should let these things trouble you no more, and only let your sins trouble you, with that trouble which shall bring you down unto repentance. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/bofm/alma/42?lang=eng&id=p29#p29

I recorded a couple of videos this week as I leaned into prioritizing personal revelation. For a while I have felt impressed to sing and record and share God’s light and love and hope but haven’t known how. Recently, as I burrowed with these thoughts of “I don’t, I can’t, I’m not….” I had an impression that translated into, “you know how to sing and you know how to push a button.”

During moments this week when I felt peace and joy connecting with nature, that impression returned to me to push the button – which is a little counter intuitive to me. I don’t really like having a device with me. But, I love feeling the spirit and I feel peace when I follow the promptings from the Holy Ghost. So, while these moments of singing and pushing a button are imperfect, maybe we can share in God’s love together, feel a little lighter and then share that light with someone else, maybe by pushing a button, or maybe by following a different nudge you receive from God as your personal revelation.

Here’s an imperfect Perfect by Ed Sheeran (that the cow’s were actually quite into) and Be Still My Soul in a beautiful place and in a mixed-up verse version. I hope you will find peace in the imperfect and stillness in your soul this week!
